Beginning Tuesday, July 11, members will see an updated message in It’s Me 247 Online Banking if they attempt a login with invalid information in the username or password fields. Regardless of which information is incorrect, the message will now display “Login failed. Invalid username or password.” Previously, this message would indicate which piece of information was incorrect. While this is only one small layer of account security, overly specific error messages have been shown to aid potential bad actors; in an ever-changing security environment, more generic messages have become the standard. This update is to the message text only, with no changes to how members log in, or how staff can assist members who are having trouble logging in.
