Network Maintenance Project Scheduled for Sunday, March 10th

As a reminder, CU*Answers will be performing our next CU*BASE high-availability (HA) rollover on Sunday, March 10th.   That same morning, teams will be rolling over online and mobile banking systems to servers at our secondary data center. These rollovers are in preparation for a maintenance project at our production data center that will include a brief power interruption.

The window for the data center maintenance project is scheduled for Sunday, March 10th, from 4:00 AM to 9:00 AM ET.

What this Project Entails

During the initial phase, teams will power systems down in a prioritized manner so that the most critical systems are the last to power down and first to power up.

The second phase will include multiple network upgrades.  It is during this stage that a brief power interruption will occur.  The upgrades that will occur are as follows:

  • Upgraded electrical infrastructure to accommodate projected growth.
  • New server room AC unit connection to the generator.
  • New data center core backbone switch infrastructure (replacement).

Once that has been completed, teams will begin powering systems up and testing to be sure that all services are back online.

Impact to Services

The following services will be operating from systems on the secondary data center and should not be impacted during the maintenance project:

  • CU*BASE/GOLD
  • Online and mobile banking
  • CU*Talk

Other services, including those listed below, will experience a period of downtime and/or delays during the maintenance window:

  • CU*Answers corporate email and websites, including the CU*BASE Alerts page
  • AnswerBook
  • CU*Spy (reports and statements)
  • CheckLogic (check images)
  • Third-Party EFT (transactions will be approved via stand-in limits)
  • Hosted email and websites

(Note: these items will be impacted for all CU*Answers, CU*South, CU*NorthWest and Site-Four credit unions.)

Post-Maintenance Report

At the conclusion of the maintenance project and associated rollovers, a gap analysis report will be published and announced to share with you the details of the event.
