The following information applies to credit unions who received the associated email.
On Tuesday, April 22, Mobile 6 will be officially retired. To prevent disruption for your members, all credit unions still using Mobile 6 will be automatically upgraded to Mobile 7. On this date, authentication will be disabled for Mobile 6 users. If your credit union has not yet upgraded, please take a moment to review this important update.
What’s Happening
Starting on April 8, a required mass update will begin updating all credit union iOS & Android mobile apps to Mobile 7.2. This will be the last Mobile 7 update before the release of Mobile 8 in the months ahead.
Moving forward, all credit union mobile apps will receive routine updates to prevent credit unions from falling behind, while ensuring security requirements and Apple & Google app store compliance. This improvement to our deployment and update process is to the benefit of credit unions, CU*Answers, and your members.
Why This Matters
- Critical App Changes required for the upcoming Online Banking EULA changes and enhancements. Mobile 6 cannot support these changes.
- Google Play Compliance: Google now mandates that apps be updated within a specified window. Non-compliant apps may be removed from the Play Store.
- App Store Risk: Apple has also indicated that outdated apps with low usage may be subject to removal from the App Store.
Important – Action Required!
To ensure that your mobile app can receive this update, your credit union needs to verify the following:
- Apple Developer Portal: Please verify that all agreements in your Apple Developer account are accepted.
- Test Credentials: Ensure your test account credentials are active and accessible.
Failure to perform these tasks will prevent your members from being able to log into online banking using mobile apps on April 22nd (there will be no exceptions)! For credit unions who have not submitted their order for Mobile 7, A one-time setup fee of $500 will be applied for this transition.
